After her devastating loss to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes, Ronda Rousey turned to WWE as her next career move. She was an instant hit with the community and demolished her competition with ease.
Now, Ronda Rousey reveals she wants to headline WWE’s biggest stage: Wrestlemania, Sky Sports reported. In the past, the event has always featured male matches as its main card to the surprise of no one as the business is largely dominated by male wrestlers.
But in the wake of Ronda Rousey’s success and how she quickly accumulated fans in the ring, a lot of people are hoping that Vince McMahon will give the former UFC bantamweight champion the chance to headline Wrestlemania 35. If it happens, it will be the first for the organization to hand over the main card to a women’s matchup.
Ronda Rousey’s in-ring debut was in Wrestlemania 34, where she teamed up with Kurt Angle and faced Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. During the match, the former UFC fighter dominated the fight and eventually won the whole thing, earning Rousey a lot of WWE fans.
So how likely is it that McMahon will give the main event card to Ronda Rousey? That is still uncertain at this point and even Ronda isn’t sure.
“It’s definitely a goal of mine to be one of the first women to headline WrestleMania,” Ronda Rousey said. “But, who that would be against or even if that would be a possibility is yet to be seen.”
Right now, Ronda Rousey is slated to fight in her first title matchup. She’s going to take on Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women’s Championship and is poised to take her first WWE belt.
As for the possibility of returning to the UFC, Ronda Rousey seems to favor her current role in the WWE rather than get back to the octagon. It can be recalled that she contemplated suicide after her massive losses to Holm and Nunes but has since recovered from both defeats and moved forward with her life.
