Samsung Electronics has introduced the 'Samsung Kiosk', a Windows 10 IoT Enterprise-powered smart ordering solution, garnering accolades at ISE 2023 and bringing seamless self-service to restaurants, pharmacies, and retail locations in South Korea.
The Windows 10 IoT Enterprise-powered product, which features a 24-inch touch display, 11th generation Intel Core processor, 8GB of memory, and 256GB SSD storage, allows for product selection, ordering, and payment.
Samsung Kiosk combines all necessary kiosk functions and support features, such as NFC, Wi-Fi, a QR-barcode scanner, a receipt printer, and card readers, without the need for a separate PC. Samsung Kiosk was hailed as the best product during ISE 2023, the biggest display expo in Europe held in Barcelona, Spain.
One thousand of the new kiosks will be delivered to Yanolja Cloud in Korea, a major supplier of lodging and recreational facilities globally. Yanolja Cloud will unveil the kiosk at the largest hotel industry show in the nation, the Korea Hotel Show, in 2023.
KFC, a fast food company, now has 63 Philippine locations that run Windows on Samsung Kiosks. Customers of KFC may self-serve and have a more convenient and customized experience thanks to the kiosks, which create an in-store digital experience for them. By the end of the year, the company will install Kiosks at more than 100 additional stores to further improve the client experience.
Samsung Kiosks running on Windows OS are used throughout the stores of the French company LAPEYRE, which produces and distributes equipment for home kitchens, bathrooms, doors, and windows. With 126 sites in France and 25 more planned to open by 2025, the booming chain has teamed up with Samsung to digitize services in an effort to grow sales and draw in new clients.
Samsung now offers Windows OS-powered products alongside those running Tizen OS offerings from 2021, increasing consumer options.
With the introduction of Windows OS on Samsung products, customers now enjoy a more diverse range of device experiences, including improved multitasking capabilities and enhanced productivity options. With both Tizen and Windows OS available for selection, customers have the freedom to choose their preferred operating system to power their devices.
