As the investigation surrounding Seungri dives deeper, it’s expected that more names will be drag into the spotlight as it appears that other celebrities are involved as well. So far, Jung Joon-young and Choi Jong-hoon are those that have been caught in the growing storm, with authorities seeking a warrant for the latter over the sex video allegations, The Straits Times reported.
Meanwhile, an arrest warrant for Seungri has yet to make progress as the investigation is still determining how many have been victimized by the suspects. At the moment, there are reportedly 10 women who have been filmed doing sexual acts without their consent. And with how everything is shaping up, it’s likely that more will be unearthed in the future.
This is especially true since Seungri and Jung Joon-young appear to have developed a liking for their chilling behavior. In the group chat where both were included, authorities revealed some disturbing messages coming from Jung.
“Let’s all get together online, hit the strip bar and rape them in the car,” Jung supposedly said at some point during their conversation within the group. Another member reflected how their lives are like a movie where they’ve done horrible things to other people without paying the consequences for their actions. It’s unclear if Seungri was the one who sent this message or some other member that has yet to be named.
Meanwhile, apart from Seungri facing prostitution charges, police are also looking into the claims that the star has been using cocaine abroad. The singer previously tested negative last month when he was questioned by authorities, but police are convinced that this new allegation holds weight.
Due to Seungri’s case sparking outrage across South Korea, some have also revived the narrative surrounding the suicide case of Jang Ja-yeon in 2009. It can be recalled that the actress left behind handwritten letters detailing how she’s been forced to sexually entertain 30 men of varying influence. With the Kpop industry rocked by this scandal and more women coming out of the shadows to lend their voices to the victims, South Korea is poised to undergo a drastic change at the moment. Change that will lay the foundation of how the country treats sexual cases like these, the strengthening of women’s rights, and address the deeply-rooted behavior of how men behave in society.
