“Shameless” Season 9 has already been confirmed and is scheduled to air on September. Shooting for the new season is still ongoing, and some of the locations chosen have been quite classy. Suffice it to say, fans of the series can expect an upgrade regarding the sights that they can see on the show. Viewers can also expect more twisted humor from the cast.
As Otaku Art notes, there’s only one month remaining until fans can watch the premiere of “Shameless” Season 9. William H. Macy will be returning as Frank Gallagher, and Emmy Rossum will also be coming back as Fiona Gallagher. It’s expected that filming for the next season will be done by August, just in time for the crew to do a bit of editing for the final product.
It would seem that viewership for the show has been doing quite well. At least, this is what Showtime President David Nevins has said about the program while commenting on “Shameless” Season 9 in a Deadline report last year. There’s no reason to suspect that the ratings for the upcoming season are going to see a change.
Just to give fans of the show some “Shameless” Season 9 bits to chew on, though, it seems the program shot some scenes in some of Chicago’s classiest places. William H. Macy directed one particular scene, and it was shot at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Chicago Tribune reports. This is the first time that the show shot a scene at the location despite it supposedly being located in the city.
Most of the scenes in the show are filmed in the backlot of the Warner Bros. studios in Los Angeles, California. These are what will make up the bulk of the scenes that viewers will see when “Shameless” Season 9 premieres on September 9.
