Sonic has introduced a new Fun.99 value menu, offering a variety of items for $1.99, including new Bacon Ranch and Southwest Crunch Queso Wraps, available at all U.S. locations.
Sonic Unveils Fun.99 Menu with New Queso Wraps and Affordable $1.99 Options Nationwide
According to a news release (via The US Sun), Sonic, a fast food chain, disclosed a new permanent addition to its menu on July 1.
The Fun.99 menu, a new value menu, offers a diverse selection of items for $1.99:
- Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger
- Chili Cheese Coney
- Bacon Ranch Queso Wrap
- Southwest Crunch Queso Wrap
- Small Tots
- Any of the 12 flavors of Sonic Shakes in a 16-ounce size
The two Queso Wraps, which are entirely new and are currently accessible at all Sonic locations in the United States, are the centerpieces of the value menu.
The Bacon Ranch Queso Wrap is a warm flour tortilla stuffed with white queso, ranch, cheddar cheese, bacon, and poultry.
The Southwest Crunch Queso Wrap is a tortilla-based dish with chicken, Southwest sauce, tortilla segments, cheddar cheese, and white queso.
Sonic's value menu was given this moniker in recognition of its recent campaign, which prioritized "choosing fun over the monotony of other fast-food options."
Sonic's chief marketing officer, Ryan Dickerson, stated, "Guests are increasingly concerned with affordable food options; however, they should not be compelled to accept the same old, tired discounts or uninteresting meals."
"Many restaurant brands are touting a lot of recycled ideas with limited options. At SONIC, we wanted to do something different – something fun – so we focused on variety, which is why we’re introducing the new $1.99 Menu, or what we like to call the FUN.99 Menu.”
“The FUN.99 Menu is all about choice and fun, whether you want any of our dozen shake flavors, a chili cheese coney, or our iconic tots as a midday snack – it’s all there for just $1.99.”
The objective of the value menu is to underscore that "delicious food does not have to be prohibitively expensive."
Sonic Joins Fast-Food Value Wars with Fun.99 Menu Amid Competitors' Meal Deals
Sonic is one of many fast-food chains that have introduced food offers. McDonald's introduced its $5 Meal Deal last month.
Initially made available to consumers on June 25, the meal comprises four items: a McDouble or McChicken, four Chicken McNuggets, small fries, and a small soft drink.
On June 27, Taco Bell capitalized on the meal deal trend by introducing its $7 Luxe Cravings Box.
The new combo menu includes a Chalupa Supreme, Beefy Five-Layer Burrito, Double Stacked Taco, chips and nacho cheese sauce, and a medium drink. It also includes additional craveable items.
Taco Bell disclosed that the cravings package is priced at a 55% discount from the cost of purchasing the items individually.
Furthermore, Burger King participated in the deal frenzy with its $5 Your Way Meal.
The meal bargain introduced last month includes a soft drink, four-piece chicken nuggets, fries, and one of three sandwiches.
The CEO of McDonald's has disclosed that an iconic menu item beloved by fans will be reintroduced later this year.
