‘Switched at Birth’ season 5’s episode 4, titled “Relation of Lines and Colors," is set to follow Daphne as she struggles to cope with the escalating racial tensions on campus. Meanwhile, Bay and Travis will be having problems of their own as their relationship becomes strained because of Emmett.
The lengthy synopsis for “Relation of Lines and Colors" posted on TV Guide reads, “Daphne (Katie Leclerc) witnesses a racist display aimed at the Black Student Union on campus. Racial tensions worsen when those responsible are barely punished, leading Iris (Sharon Pierre-Louis) to partake in a hunger strike and Sharee (Bianca Bethune) to grow frustrated with the school's lack of action.
Meanwhile, Daphne receives an anonymous threat; and Bay (Vanessa Marano) helps Emmett (Sean Berdy) with an art project, which causes friction with Travis (Ryan Lane).”
It seems that things have gone from bad to worse for Daphne as she attempts to deal with the escalating racial tensions aimed at the Black Student Union going on at her campus. Iris is forced to protest in her own way by going on a hunger strike.
As tensions worsen, Sharee becomes desperate after realizing that the school lacks sufficient action to subdue the disrupting events. Daphne will also receive an anonymous threat on her life.
Meanwhile, Bay and Travis will have to deal with Emmett coming between them once more. According to Christian Post, a fight may break out between the couple after Bay decides to help her ex-boyfriend with an art project. Travis dislikes the fact that Bay keeps in contact with Emmett and may have trouble keeping his calm in the upcoming episode.
‘Switched at Birth’ season 5’s episode 4, titled “Relation of Lines and Colors," is scheduled to air on February 21, 2017 on Freeform. It was directed by Carlos Gonzales and written for the small screen by Linda Gase and J.R. Phillips. It will be followed by episode 5, titled "Occupy Truth," directed by Jeff Byrd and scheduled to be released on February 28.
