‘Switched at Birth’ season 5’s episode 9, titled “The Wolf is Waiting," will follow Travis as he reunites with his birth mother. The reunion will take a turn for the worst when the meeting brings up painful childhood memories. Meanwhile, Daphne will contemplate on helping Chris cheat on a mandatory drug test.
The synopsis for “The Wolf is Waiting” posted on TV Guide reads, “Travis (Ryan Lane) and Bay (Vanessa Marano) have dinner with his birth mom, but the reunion dredges up painful memories of his childhood assault. Elsewhere, Daphne (Katie Leclerc) contemplates helping Chris (Sam Adegoke) cheat on a test; and Regina (Constance Marie) gets paid an unexpected visit.”
The upcoming episode will feature a reunion between Travis and his biological mother through. Bay is also set to meet the woman in a dinner that would prove to have unexpected twists and turns as Travis is forced to relive painful childhood trauma. The encounter will force Travis to face his past childhood assault.
The photographs for the upcoming episode posted on Spoilers Guide hints at some emotional rollercoasters for the characters of Freeform’s drama series. In some of the images, Travis is seen looking quite unhappy while on his bed as Bay talks to him. They seem to be deep into a serious discussion while Bay holds his hand to give him comfort.
According to Christian Post, Bay will do everything she can to help him deal with the painful memories so that his newfound relationship with his birth mother will not suffer. She is well aware that their reunion means a lot to him.
Meanwhile, Daphne will find herself in a bind when she considers helping Chris cheat on a mandatory drug test enforced by the school after she found out that he had been using steroids for his baseball team. She first noticed this when his nose began to bleed during a date. She also saw that he had bruises all over his body, signaling some internal bleeding.
‘Switched at Birth’ season 5’s episode 9, titled “The Wolf is Waiting," is scheduled to air on Freeform on April 4, 2017. It was directed by Jill D'Agnenica and written by Terrence Coli and William H. Brown. It will be followed by episode 10, titled "Long Live Love," scheduled to be released on April 11 and directed by Steve Miner.
