Tesla is rolling out the first-ever software update for the Cybertruck with version 2024.2.3. Although the Cybertruck began deliveries in late November and has been available to non-employees for several weeks, Tesla is finally delivering its first software upgrade.
Revamped Tesla Cybertruck Software Update Brings Remarkable Enhancements
The update includes several adjustments, one of which is to increase the text size to comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS), which was involved in a significant "recall" last week. Still, a few things are planned to enhance the Cybertruck specifically, Teslarati claimed.
The Cybertruck's ride and handling have been enhanced to offer greater comfort on uneven roads and greater consistency on varied road conditions when the vehicle is in Sport Mode, or the Custom Ride and Handling feature is in "Focused" mode.
Off-Road Mode will also provide owners with a less thrilling ride. The release notes for the software update indicate:
"Get a more consistent response on different road surfaces and greater comfort on [the] rough winding pavement in Sport Mode or when Custom Ride & Handling is set to Focused. Also expect reduced pitch and body roll in Off-Road Mode."
More effective charging is the second enhancement that Cybertruck's first software upgrade brought forth. Now that the car is calibrated to each DC charging station's level, battery preconditioning efficiency will increase:
"Your vehicle now adjusts to the power level of each DC charging station. So battery preconditioning when you're navigating to a charger, and then charging, can be more efficient."

Tesla Users Advised Not To Use Virtual Reality Headsets While Driving
After videos of drivers using Apple's virtual reality headset went viral, Tesla owners were warned to keep their eyes on the road. Pete Buttigieg, the US Secretary of Transportation, stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the driver must be engaged "at all times" in all modern automobiles.
Nonetheless, a driver acknowledged that his video was a joke. In online videos, people are seen wearing the Apple headset over their eyes while driving cars equipped with autonomous modes.
Pete Buttigieg reposted one of them with the message, saying:
"Reminder - ALL advanced driver assistance systems available today require the human driver to be in control and fully engaged in the driving task at all times."
Another video uploaded the day the Apple Vision Pro went on sale shows a man wearing the headset in a Tesla who appears to be stopped by the police. Gizmodo, meanwhile, claims that he "drove with the headset for 30-40 seconds" and argued that it was a "skit" he made with buddies.
While Tesla advises drivers to always "maintain control and responsibility for your vehicle," even in autonomous mode, Apple's user handbook cautions against using headsets while driving.
