One of the good things about online massive multiplayer RPGs like “The Elder Scrolls Online” is that players can count on recurring in-game events that will give them special boosts. That is true, especially this week as Bethesda launches the Midyear Mayhem battles. Meanwhile, developers are also giving away a free Pet with one simple instruction.
How to join the Midyear Mayhem battle for double XP
For the Midyear Mayhem, the in-game events will take place at the battlegrounds and in Cyrodiil, the Imperial City. Joining this festivity will help players gain double XP and Alliance points, among other rewards.
The event goes live on Thursday, June 25, at 10 a.m. EDT. “The Elder Scrolls Online” players can join by acquiring the Midyear Mayhem quest through the Crown Store. Traveling to Cyrodiil is no longer required as players just have to proceed to their Alliance War faction’s entry point. Once there, players will have to look for the NPC named Predicant Maera to initiate the event. But anyone who has joined Midyear Mayhem before does not have to complete these steps.
Completing the first quest awards “The Elder Scrolls Online” players with Scroll of Pelinal's Ferocity and a Pelinal's Midyear Boon Box. These contain 100% boosts on Alliance Points and XP during PvP matches when used in Alliance War, Imperial City, and battlegrounds. The event will last until Tuesday, July 7, at 10 a.m. EDT. For more than a week, players have a chance to complete all Midyear Mayhem Achievements to acquire the Midyear Victor’s Laurel Wreath.
Just by joining the Midyear Mayhem battles, players have a chance at winning other rewards that will make playing “The Elder Scrolls Online” less repetitive. For one, they can collect Battlemaster Rivyn quests and other missions that are found in Boon Boxes.
‘The Elder Scrolls Online’ devs gives away a free Pet, but there’s a catch
Bethesda is encouraging “The Elder Scrolls Online” players to verify their email addresses registered to their ESO accounts, especially those playing on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The video game company also hopes more players will subscribe to its marketing email blasts. Since people tend to not want any more emails that they are less likely to open and would then just crowd their inbox, Bethesda has one special treat for those who will agree to join their mailing list.
Players who will opt in to Bethesda’s marketing emails will receive a free “The Elder Scrolls Online” Pet. This can be done through the ESO account settings under “Account Summary” > “Marketing Preferences” > enable the “I would like to receive news about new events and promotions” option > press Save.
Gamers might want to give this try as it is one good way to keep up-to-date on Crown Store sales, game events, and other announcements. “The Elder Scrolls Online” players have to verify their email address and opt in to the marketing emails by Wednesday, July 1, before 3 a.m. EDT to qualify for the free Pet giveaway.
