“The Grand Tour” season 4 is being talked about after Jeremy Clarkson’s tearful farewell in the third installment’s finale. While Amazon has not yet released any official announcement, the 59-year-old writer and journalist specializing in motoring confirmed that they will be back for more episodes.
Clarkson revealed this detail about “The Grand Tour” season 4 while talking saying his farewells in the previous season’s final episode. At any rate, Jeremy got emotional as their show is signing off and in his interview with The Sun, he explained why he felt so upset during the ending segment of their program.
“In 2002 I came up with the Stig, then an audience with a track and all that stuff. So, you know, you do something for 17 years and then it goes,” he said. “The truth of it is, I think, I never got the chance to say goodbye to ‘Top Gear.’ One minute I was there and one minute I wasn’t. It was like, did the show and then never did another one.”
He went on to say, “Never said goodbye. Never got a gold watch. Never got a retirement speech. Nothing. So this was almost as though we were saying goodbye to ‘Top Gear’ as well. That’s why it was so emotional for me.”
New Format
Jeremy Clarkson firmly said that “The Grand Tour” season 4 is happening, however, it will be different from what their viewers have come to know their show. He said that the tent and the track will not be there anymore plus the studio audience aspect of the program will no longer be featured as well.
He relayed that “The Grand Tour” season 4 will not present specials with the cast going on road trips on various parts of the world. In short, the fourth installment will be a series of road trip specials. Jeremy Clarkson also admitted that in part, the format of the show was changed because they are growing old already.
“I like having a studio audience but I’m getting old now. So life will be a bit easier just doing the specials, he shared. “But on the upside, it does mean I get to spend less of my life with James May. There is always a silver lining.”
Meanwhile, via Radio Times. Jeremy Clarkson told fans not to worry because the good news is that “The Grand Tour” season 4, there will be more coming as they are not stopping from there. The premiere date for the fourth season is not yet available at this time.
