‘The Librarians’ season 3’s episode 8, titled “And the Eternal Question,” is set to feature the team as they head to a holistic spa run by vampires. Meanwhile, Cassandra continues to deal with her tumor diagnosis.
The synopsis for “And the Eternal Question” posted on TV Guide reads, “Cases of people spontaneously combusting lead the Librarians to a holistic spa run by vampires who have uncovered the burning secret to walking in the sun.”
In the preceding episode aired last January 1, titled "And the Curse of Cindy," the Librarians got close to the members of the DOSA while on a new mission to investigate a mysterious cult centered around Cindy Kroger. Cindy was a reality show contestant, who has concocted a way to make anyone worship her by using a powerful love potion made by her own tears based on a recipe from the goddess Aphrodite.
It seems that episode 7 will not be the last the team will have to deal with the DOSA since they will have to focus on the present problem of Cassandra’s (Lindy Booth) health problem. The team will have to deal with people bursting into flames and their mission will lead them to an extraordinary holistic spa that is apparently run by vampires. In this spa, the vampires have figured out a way to walk under the sun without perishing.
The promo for episode 8 opened with people gathering to watch a game of golf. They scream in horror as the current player spontaneously combusts. In the next scene, it was revealed that the victim’s ashes weren’t human but vampire.
Meanwhile, Cassandra is by a physician that they must “take care” of the tumor at the soonest possible time. Cassandra only replies, “There’s nothing to take care of.” It seems that although her tumor proves to be fatal, Cassandra refuses to have it removed in fear of losing what makes her special.
The incoming episode is set to be directed by Noah Wyle, who also executive produces and stars as the veteran librarian Flynn in the series. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Wyle expressed his enthusiasm over his involvement in the adventure-fantasy series.
Wyle said, “I’ve always looked at Flynn and the Librarians franchise as medicinal doses every time I get a little too oversaturated doing drama... Ever since the first movie [in 2004], when I was doing E.R., the play that I get to do at the end of something both physically and mentally taxing, it’s like a summer vacation job.”
He continues, “I want it to come back for a fourth season and I felt like the more I invest in it, the better chances it would have. I didn’t want to be an absentee owner like the way I had been the past few years.”
‘The Librarians’ season 3’s episode 8, titled “And the Eternal Question,” is scheduled to air on January 8, 2017 on TNT. It was directed by Noah Wyle and written by Kate Rorick and Nicole Ranadive. It will be followed by episode 9, titled "And the Fatal Separation,” scheduled for January 15.
