In the first Predator movie, a team of elite soldiers on a rescue mission were hunted down one after another by an enemy they could not see. The film provided a window into how well humanity’s best warriors can match up against a hunter with advanced technology and brute strength. Now, players of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands will have the chance to experience the fear of being hunted by the movie icon.
From December 14th until the early weeks of January, players of the Ubisoft open-world shooting game can encounter the famous Predator thanks to a free DLC. The new content will see players hunting and being hunted by this sci-fi creature in either solo or four-player co-op, the announcement blog post notes.
Defeating the Predator will provide players with some unique items, which include the Predator’s Mask complete with Predator Vision. Of course, this will be no easy task as the new enemy will be the fierce and deadly hunter that it is in the movies.
It seems the developers of Wildlands are even more excited about this DLC. According to Ubisoft senior producer Nouredine Abboud, they have been fans of the Predator franchise for years.
“At Ubisoft Paris, we have been fans of the Predator for a long time and are thrilled to bring such an iconic character to our game,” Abboud said. “The challenge is full of references to the original Predator movie, and we cannot wait to see the reaction of our players!”
This DLC is intended to be in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the original Predator film released in 1987, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gamespot reports. Aside from the Predator itself, the DLC will also apparently come with a new skin that’s intended to emulate Dutch, the character that Schwarzenegger played. Since Wildlands is a combat game, this Special Forces operative would fit right in.
