The escapees from Grace Field and Grand Valley no longer have to worry about Andrew and his men chasing them, but they paid a heavy price for their freedom. As seen in the previous chapter, Lucas and Yuugo managed to hold off the team sent by Peter Ratri to exterminate them. However, the two Glory Bell orphanage escapees decided to sacrifice themselves to make sure Andrew can’t go after the kids. So what is going to happen in “The Promised Neverland” Chapter 109?
The upcoming chapter will likely shift the focus back to Emma and the rest of the kids, and it will show how they are dealing with the knowledge that Lucas and Yuugo decided to stay behind for their sakes. They will probably hear the sound of the explosion so they know that something happened to their friends back in the shelter. Now the question is, did they take out all the assassins? Or are there more on their trail? And is Andrew finally dead?
In any case, “The Promised Neverland” Chapter 108 has been one of the best chapters to date. Some readers have even noted that it created a sense of insecurity that makes the manga unpredictable.
“On the heels of that arc we're not only left with a false sense of security that completely dismantles our mindset revolving around the series as a whole but we are made to believe that Emma and everyone else will come out alright in nearly every situation. Only for that image to be immediately deconstructed and demolished before our very eyes,” Reddit user NovaxRangerx stated.
Lucas and Yuugo managed to buy them some time, but the escapees will have to hurry in “The Promised Neverland” Chapter 109 because they don’t want to get caught in the open. Not in their current condition.
“The Promised Neverland” Chapter 109 is scheduled to come out on Oct. 27, but raw scans should be available soon. Don’t forget to support the official release of the manga, though.
