The next episode for season 5 of “Veep” will see Selina set to spend thanksgiving with Catherine. In a video preview, Catherine tells Selina that since her grandmother died, this thanksgiving will be the first spent without “Mee-Maw”; to which Selina responded in typical fashion.
"There's a lot to be thankful for," Selina said.
Viewers who have been watching the show for a long time will know that Selina didn’t exactly raise Catherine in the most traditional of ways. As a result, a thanksgiving celebration without “Mee-Maw” might just prove to be as entertaining as anything our main character gets involved in. Viewers can expect the customary retorts from their favorite female politician along with her tendency to get involved in hilarious situations.
According to the show synopsis by HBO, it also seems like Ben and Kent will have to deal with their own Thanksgiving problems where they are forced to send both Tom James and VP Doyle to provide certain statements that Selina was meant to. Is it possibly the Thanksgiving speech every president has always made? To add to that, Dan is forced by Ben to ask Tom James for work. What will happen in that setup?
In the same video preview mentioned above, Jonah is shouting enthusiastically.
"You don't get rid of Jonah Ryan," he said.
As to why he is shouting in the first place, we can only guess, though it is safe to say that it has something to do with him being at risk of getting replaced or let go.
To recap on this week’s episode titled “Mee-Maw,” Selina was told that her mother was in critical condition after she had a stroke. However, Selina did not display the grief that was expected of a daughter who just received terrible news about her mother; it turns out that she actually hated her mother.
Episode 5 of “Veep” season 5 is show on May 22 on HBO.
