Blizzard Entertainment surprised gaming fans this week with the announcement that the multiplayer gameplay of “Warcraft 3: Reforged” is finally going live on beta. The game was confirmed about a year ago with a promise that it will be fully released before 2019 ends.
‘Warcraft 3: Reforged’ gameplay: How to join the beta test
Fans following the official Twitter page for “Warcraft 3: Reforged” received the news on Tuesday that the game’s multiplayer beta is going live “this week.” The lack of a specific date seemingly implied that it would not happen for a few days.

It was later discovered that invitations have already gone out, allowing some players in certain regions to access the game on the same day. PC Gamer reports some testers were already streaming “Warcraft 3: Reforged” plays through Twitch just hours after the announcement.
The “Warcraft 3: Reforged” beta is not available for open or public access. Blizzard selects random players who are then notified through invitation emails. To check their eligibility to be selected for the beta tests, players should check out their Beta Profile on their Blizzard account. The developer also confirmed that invitations will be sent by batches and will arrive at a later time on certain regions.
Players should note that the said invitation emails are the only and official way to access the “Warcraft 3: Reforged” beta. This is where the instructions in installing the beta client and process of sending Blizzard their feedback will be provided.
‘Warcraft 3: Reforged’ release date: Multiplayer beta going live hints at an imminent launch
It is unknown how long the “Warcraft 3: Reforged” beta will run. At this point, testers can only play with orc and human races on 1v1 and 2v2 modes while the night elf and undead will be available in the coming weeks along with other gameplay modes. Players should regularly check their Blizzard accounts as more invitations are anticipated to be sent out as the beta goes along.
However, the “Warcraft 3: Reforged” beta should not run for over two months if Blizzard intends to deliver its promise about the game’s release date. The game’s Battle.net page indicates it will be available “on or before December 31, 2019.”
