‘Wayward Pines’ season 2’s episode 4 is set to reveal more truths about the Abbies’ existence with the help of a character brought in by Xander. Meanwhile, C.J.’s expedition to expand the town and humanity may be a suicide mission for him and the team.
The synopsis posted in Carter Matt stated, “Trapped outside the fence at the end of the first episode, Xander returns to Wayward Pines – bringing someone unexpected back with him who helps him learn more about the Abbies’ intentions. Meanwhile, Rebecca puts herself at odds with Megan in order to help Lucy, a young girl who is trying to escape a Wayward Pines tradition, and CJ leads a brave group on an expedition beyond the fence to expand humanity’s claim on the Earth, despite Theo’s protests.”
Episode 4’s promo found the characters embroiled in intense emotional interactions as they attempt to unlock the real reasons behind the existence of the Abbies. Xander (Josh Helman) turns out to be alive and brings an “unexpected” character back to Wayward Pines to help understand the Abbies but the question of this person’s trustworthiness remains.
In the previous episode, a team led by Jason and C.J. (Djimon Hounsou) prepared for town expansion for the acquisition of more fertile growing land and potable water as well as expand humanity. It would be interesting to see how their expedition team will carry this out considering the threat of the Abbies beyond the fence. C.J. will also continue to struggle with the circumstances of Nurse Pam’s (Melissa Leo) untimely demise.
Meanwhile, Pam’s brief return to town brought in more revelations. According to Gaston Gazette, the previous episode delved deeper into Jason’s (Tom Stevens) origins.
Episode 3, entitled “Once Upon a Time in Wayward Pines", opened with Pam revealing that Jason was the first live birth in Wayward Pines in what seemed to be a fairy tale scenario. He was raised by Pam and Pilcher, with full knowledge of the Abbies and the impending apocalypse. He was also secretly primed by Megan (Hope Davis) to become the leader of the First Generation.
Pam was revealed to be in exile in the outskirts of town for killing her brother but managed to return and convince Jason that they must work together for the good of Wayward Pines. Jason was prompted to publicly forgive her unaware that she was secretly trying to infect the entire town with smallpox, which was inside her. She was eventually sent outside the fence and killed.
‘Wayward Pines’ season 2’s episode 4 is scheduled to air on Fox on June 15, 2016.
