Wendy’s already built a good relationship with Adult Swim’s “Rick and Morty” sitcom after collaborations in the past. Now their partnership has been extended, and the fast-food chain is introducing something refreshing for its customers.
Wendy’s and “Rick and Morty” latest collab
Wendy’s recently announced that with the expansion of its team up with the popular Adult Swim’s show, it will be offering new drinks to customers, and these will be available ahead of “Rick and Morty” season 5’s premiere.
The burger joint will be selling the “Rick and Morty” themed drink mixes in the stores where the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines are installed. In other locations, Wendy’s will be opening pop-up stores in Los Angeles and will feature the favorite adult cartoon show.
"Wendy's is such a great partner, we had to continue our cosmic journey with them," Warner Bros. global kids, young adults and classics chief marketing officer, Tricia Melton, said in a press release. "Thanks to them and Coca-Cola, fans can celebrate Rick and Morty Day with a Portal Time Lemon Lime in one hand and a BerryJerryboree in the other. And to quote the wise Rick Sanchez from season 4, we looked right into the bleeding jaws of capitalism and said, yes daddy please."
The “Rick and Morty” drink mixes at Wendy’s
The latest promo that was created in collaboration with Wendy's and Adult Swim will introduce two new flavor mixes, and these are the “Rick and Morty” themed- Mello Yello BerryJerryboree and Mello Yello Portal Time Lemon Lime. These will also be sold in zero-sugar options.
The Coca-Cola Freestyle machines in Wendy’s restaurants will be available from June 16 to Aug. 22. Aside from this, the fast-food chain will offer free in-app delivery from June 17 to July 1, and the best part is that there is no minimum purchase required. During the promo period, customers will also see “Rick and Morty” inspired food choices on Wendy’s menu, such as Jerry’s Single, a limited-edition Pickle Rick Frosty.
Meanwhile, Wendy’s is adding something related to the show in its stores as part of the Global Rick and Morty Day kick-off. This is to celebrate the worldwide premiere of the show’s fifth season that will be unleashed on June 20. It is expected to air the finale on Aug. 22.
