The Fall TV 2017 will be welcoming a 90s classic sitcom.
“Will & Grace” is slated to return to NBC for the network’s fall season content. Screenrant said the rebooted TV series will have 12 episodes, and will bring the original actors in the show: Erin McCormack and Debra Messing as best friends Will Truman (a gay lawyer), Grace Adler (a straight interior designer), Sean Hayes as Will’s best friend Jack McFarland, and Megan Mullalley as Grace’s wily assistant, Karen Walker. The reboot will pick up a decade after the show last bowed out in 2006.
The confirmation came with a new poster for the series, which featured all four characters sitting in personalized director chairs along with a phrase that said, “Back this fall.”
When the revival was first announced, NBC's Robert Greenblatt said in a statement, "We're thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and most defining comedies in NBC history is coming back. This groundbreaking series for everything from gay rights to social and political commentary— all disguised as a high-speed train of witty pop culture — is coming back where it belongs."
Jennifer Salke, president of NBC Entertainment, shared how the reboot came to be. She said, "We started talking with Mutchnick and Kohan about producing new episodes right after they shot the secret reunion show back in September, and the fact that all four of the original stars were excited about getting back into production is a testament to the joyful experience they had doing nearly 200 episodes for eight seasons. Few things cut through the clutter these days, especially in comedy, and “Will & Grace” is one of the best."
