Microsoft and Xiaomi collaborated to bring windows 10 Mobile to Xiaomi Mi 4 handsets, with beta testers released in June. The ROM seems to be already developed by Microsoft and all set for its public launch this week.
Bin Lin, VP of Xiaomi, recently posted on Weibo an image of the Xiaomi Mi 4 with Windows 10 Mobile ROM. The post also points to a December 3 release date for the ROM, Windows Central reported. It will be available only for LTE-enabled models.
As to why Xiaomi was chosen for developing the ROM, Microsoft said that it is because Xiaomi’s customers constantly provide feedback on weekly software updates, Phone Arena reported. Speculations are also rife that Microsoft might announce a list of other Android devices that will support Windows 10 Mobile ROM.
Xiaomi Mi 4 is a 5-inch smartphone equipped with Snapdragon 801 chipset and 3GB RAM. It has 13MP primary camera and 8MP secondary camera and comes with non-removable Li-Ion 3080 mAh battery.
