“X-Men: Dark Phoenix” has been plagued with issues from the start but even with those, many fans of the franchise are still looking forward to the film’s release. With it being a bit of a way off, prospective viewers are left wanting more details about the upcoming film starring Sophie Turner as Jean Grey. In response, the film’s director, Simon Kinberg teased that they will be releasing something soon.
As Comic Book reports, Kinberg recently responded to a question on social media where he teased that they have something in the works about “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” to show in the near future. There have been no details as to how long fans will have to wait, however. It could be in a few days or a few weeks.
In any case, Kinberg has made it no secret that he has high expectations for “X-Men: Dark Phoenix.” In a discussion about the film in December of last year, for example, he revealed that he views the movie as the beginning of something new. Hopefully, this something will actually be better than the previous attempt at showcasing the “Dark Phoenix” arc.
"I see it as a new chapter," Kinberg had said at the time. "I see it as taking the franchise in a different direction tonally. And that doesn’t mean that the next one will have the same tone, it just means that the next one can have a different tone. I think for many years, the X-Men, Bryan [Singer] really transformed the superhero genre in 2000 or 2001 when the first one came out. That’s almost 20 years ago. It is a long time ago. And at that time, superhero movies were not wildly popular, actually. There had been a few failures in the mid-90s, and there hadn’t been a lot of superhero movies, if any, around that time and X-Men sort of was revolutionary in its moment.”
As for when “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” is coming out, June 7 is the date to take note of. One can only hope that it’s going to be good.
