Dr Olumide is a research scientist with a doctoral degree from Australia. His areas of expertise include food microbiology, microbial food safety and quality, aquaculture microbiology, and research communication.

He is a fellow of the African Scientific Institute (ASI), United States. Active member of Association of African Agricultural Professionals in the Diaspora (AAAPD), Society for the Advancement of Science in Africa (SASA) and Institute of Fisheries Management, United Kingdom.
