Leah Williams Veazey is a sociologist based at the University of Sydney, Australia. A feminist sociologist with research interests in migration, care, and digital cultures, she completed her doctoral thesis on migrant maternal online communities. Based on interviews with migrant mothers living in Australia, this thesis is the basis for her first book, "Migrant Mothers in the Digital Age" published by Routledge in May 2021. Currently working as a researcher in the Sydney Centre for Healthy Societies at the University of Sydney, focusing on health sociology research projects, she also has over a decade’s experience of working in non-profit communications, focusing on women and health, and has specialised in managing online communities and social media for charities. Prior to completing her PhD at the University of Sydney, Leah completed a Master’s in Migration at Queen Mary, University of London (where she received the inaugural Paisner Prize for her dissertation), and a BA in Modern & Medieval Languages at Queens’ College, University of Cambridge.
