Dale Tweedie

Senior lecturer, Macquarie University
Dr Dale Tweedie researches in two main areas: social & environmental accounting/accountability (SEA); and, the ethics of work.

Dale brings an interdisciplinary perspective to research, teaching and public discussion. He has published in leading international journals in the fields of social and environmental accounting/accountability, management and sociology, including in Human Relations; Journal of Business Ethics; Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal; Critical Perspectives on Accounting; and, Work, Employment and Society.

Dale also draws on his employment and education in diverse fields. After two years as an accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, he completed his tertiary education in Philosophy and Economics. Prior to joining the Department, he was a Senior Research Fellow in the International Governance and Performance Research Centre (IGAP).

Dale has co-delivered research projects on ethics and sustainability reporting funded by professional bodies such as Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CAANZ) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Dale's contributions to public discussion include analyses of contemporary ethics, accountability and governance issues in both the public press and in professional journals and forums. He also serves on the management committee of Macquarie University's Centre for Workforce Futures, and on the editorial boards of Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal; Critical Perspectives on Accounting; Accounting Forum; and, the Social and Environmental Accountability Journal.
