PhD Candidate, School of Architecture and Built Environment, University of Newcastle
Jerry is currently a PhD (Building) Candidate at the University of Newcastle. He receives the University of Newcastle International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (UNIPRS) and University of Newcastle Postgraduate Research Scholarship (UNRS External) for his PhD since 2017. His current research is about how to move beyond short term and reactive coping to proactive and long term adaptation in flood risk management. He is interested in research that explores how to make land use planning effective in a changing climate, making informal settlements adapted and resilient to risks, and flood risk reduction.
He previously worked as a Development Planning Consultant at TREND Ghana, a WASH sector NGO. He holds an MPhil Planning and Bsc Human Settlement Planning degrees from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi. Jerry was a Teaching and Research Assistant at the Department of Planning, KNUST from 2012-2013. He also served as a Graduate Assistant at the same department from 2013-2015.
