I am a post-doctoral fellow at the Mershon Center for International Security Studies at the Ohio State University. I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University in July 2022.
My general research interests include Syrian refugees, international security, the Middle East, Western Europe, and qualitative and multi-method research. In particular, I study the social construction of threats and security policies, known as securitization, by focusing on the performative, strategic, and symbolic power of security.
My research has been published or is forthcoming in the Journal of Global Security Studies, European Politics and Society, Muslim World Journal of Human Rights, and Forced Migration Review.
