I am a professor in Science, Technology and Society. Having been trained in the sociology and philosophy of science and technology, I have worked on emergent forms of public engagement ("material participation") as well as methods development (issue mapping, situational analytics). My current research is concerned with testing beyond the laboratory as a form of knowledge and intervention in contemporary societies. I am an external faculty member of the Institute for Advanced Study of the University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands), a Visiting Professor in the Centre for Media of Cooperation at the University of Siegen (Germany), and I was a member of the REF2021 Sociology sub-panel.
