The box office hit “A Quiet Place” is the latest popular film to get a video game adaptation. Its development has been recently confirmed, but it is not slated to launch anytime soon.
The development of “A Quiet Place” video game was announced with the launch of its new official website and social media pages. Unfortunately, details about its plot and gameplay are very scarce at the moment.
There is no video teaser released yet to grace the announcement of the “A Quiet Place” video game. What fans know for now is that the project is being developed by iLLOGIKA, a studio known for its works on popular franchises like “Rainbow Six” and “Far Cry.” The game will be published by Saber Interactive, and it is billed as the first and only official game based on the movie distributed by Paramount Pictures.
The official description for the “A Quiet Place” game is also scant at the moment. The developers only say it will be a “terrifying new video game,” which should not be surprising considering how the story of the original film goes. But reports added that it will feature single-player gameplay and a story-driven campaign.
Based on the short description, it appears that the game will not feature the original characters from “A Quiet Place,” which includes the Abbott family played by actors John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe. While the game’s plot is expected to be related to the movie’s in some capacity, iLLOGIKA seems to be working on a story that will be first narrated in the video game adaptation as the studio says players will “experience a new untold story of survival in the ‘A Quiet Place’ universe.”
Fans will also have to be patient about the game’s release date. The developer did not provide a more specific release window yet and only said the “A Quiet Place” game will launch sometime in 2022.
“A Quiet Place” premiered in 2018 with a post-apocalyptic story depicting the world overrun by sightless, predatory aliens. The creatures hunt down their prey by following the sound they make, hence, the movie’s title. Its sequel’s release was delayed because of the pandemic, but it ultimately premiered last May.
