Aaron Hernandez TV Documentary In The Works? News Come Following Suicide Of Ex-New England Patriots In Jail Cell

Former NFL star Aaron Hernandez will reportedly be the subject of a television series. Deadline said the company who produced Geno McDermott’s in-your-face documentary about animal captivity, “Blackfin,” has been in production since early this year, and had been working with writer Dan Wetzel. Wetzel is said to have been following Hernandez’s story, most particularly in the last four years.

Although it’s not typical for the entertainment industry to produce a documentary about an athlete, Hernandez’s story was tabloid drama. Hernandez was serving a life sentence without parole after he got convicted for the murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd, who was then dating the sister of Hernandez’s fiancee. Last week, prosecutors said that it will be unlikely for Hernandez to be a free man ever. On early Wednesday, the former athlete hanged himself in his prison cell, and was found at 3:05 am by correction officers, the New York Post said. Sources said Hernandez did not leave a suicide note, but had the words “John 3:16” written on his forehead, which reads as follows:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

The upcoming series said the Aaron Hernandez documentary will be made in the style of Netflix’s popular documentary, “Making of a Murderer.” The project will supposedly be shopped around to streaming services, cable and premium networks by next week.

McDermott, following Hernandez’s death, appears to be pushing forward with the project and said, “The Hernandez case has been a compelling investigation, but as a result of this horrific turn of events, the focus of the project will experience an obvious shift.”
