Abby Lee Miller remains positive that she can dance again and fully recover. The former “Dance Moms” star recently moved out of a rehab facility after being diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma.
E! News reported on Tuesday that Miller has decided to leave from the rehab facility where she had been staying. She has decided to continue her medical recovery process at her home in Los Angeles. A source said, “She's going to try to work again but it will be hard given her physical condition."
In late August, there was a report from E! News that Miller was told by her doctors that she “may never walk again.” But on a more positive note, the former “Dance Moms” mentor is reportedly looking forward to fully recovering. An insider close to Miller said, “Her prognosis is bleak, but she is vowing to beat this and not only walk, but dance again."
Miller shares her journey to recovery on her Instagram page. In several photos, fans can see Miller receiving treatment and while in therapy sessions. Her most recent posts show her movements are still limited and that she still needs a wheelchair to move around.
Aside from Miller’s own social media posts, a source also said the dancer’s recovery process is being filmed for an upcoming TV project. “This entire situation is being documented on camera and will be a focal point on Abby Lee's upcoming televised cancer special,” the tipster said. Miller also mentioned the said TV special in an Instagram post last Aug. 25.
Before her cancer diagnosis, Miller had a rough time, particularly in 2017. The dance mentor announced on her social media page that she is leaving “Dance Moms” for good after an apparent nasty falling out with the producers. She was then sentenced with a one-year jail time after the court found her guilty of fraud.
Since then, Miller’s return to the “Dance Moms” set had been very uncertain and so was the show’s renewal for season 8. But fans can relax now. “Dance Moms” is not only getting an eighth season, Miller is also reportedly coming back in the cast.
