Apple’s rumored $1,000 tabletop robot, featuring an arm and display, has been spotted in the supply chain, signaling a significant new addition to Apple’s smart home product lineup.
Supply Chain Hints at Apple’s $1,000 Robot
Apple has another product in the works, which will fall under the category of smart home gadgets, following the massive debut of Vision Pro.
There were rumors going around that the business was going to release a new tabletop robot that had speakers built into its base and an arm that could hold a display similar to an iPad. The first sighting of a tabletop robot in the company's worldwide supply chain has reportedly been made public, suggesting that the device's release is soon.
An article in the United Daily News from Taiwan states that the company's worldwide supply chain has noticed a tabletop robot and that all signs point to Apple's purported smart home device.
Hongzhun to Develop Key Components for Apple Robot
Hongzhun, which Apple may have chosen, is going to be important in creating the exterior housing and critical mechanical parts for the smart home gadget with a robotic arm.
While the tabletop robot is still in its early phases of development, the supplier will be asked to mass produce units of the same components once the devices get authorized under Apple's quality requirements.
Hongzhun is a wholly owned subsidiary of Foxconn, and it is one of Apple's primary sources for iPhone components, in case you were wondering.
The subsidiary supplier plans to shift its focus from making laptop and game console cases to developing sophisticated products, as revealed in its shareholder meeting. This shift will involve investing in upcoming technologies like AI and robots.
In WCCFTECH's opinion, Apple's upcoming tabletop robot will function as a smart home device, maybe with a homeOS interface that links all HomeKit-compatible items.
Tabletop Robot to Feature Advanced AI and Siri
Bloomberg, on the other hand, describes it as a desktop gadget that integrates the HomePod with the iPad. Additionally, it will be able to handle a variety of tasks with the help of Apple's artificial intelligence (AI) and an upgraded Siri.
Estimates put the price at $1,000, which is steep when compared to Google and Amazon's offerings.
