In several instances, it has been speculated that Apple will add OLED technology to the M3 iPad Pro devices for the first time later this year. According to Ross Young, CEO of DSCC (Display Supply Chain Consultants), Apple will bring different technologies to this family for the first time for a device in this class. As a result, the analyst had various compliments for the OLED panels, so let us go over those in more depth.
Analysts Like The M3 iPad Pro OLED Panels
The 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models are rumored to use an LTPO backplane, which is comparable to the technology used on Apple's most recent iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
According to Ross Young, the future gadgets will also be the first in their class to include a tandem stack. A tandem stack layer extends the life of the iPad Pro's OLED panel by four times while raising overall brightness by twice the maximum level.
Apple and Samsung were previously rumored to be at odds over an agreement in which the Korean company would offer these high-quality panels. Young stated in his article that these tablets will have the 'brightest and longest life OLEDs,' owing to the usage of tandem stack technology.
Furthermore, switching from mini-LED to OLED allows Apple to make these screens smaller, allowing the M3 iPad Pro to have a slimmer chassis. However, we cannot speculate on how this may effect its aluminum chassis.
Unfortunately, as much as Apple would prefer to keep the pricing of its future M3 iPad Pro models the same, the adoption of sophisticated OLEDs would almost certainly compel the Cupertino company to charge a significant premium to its devoted fans.
Price Hike for M3 iPad Pro Expected: Starting at $1,500 with Potential to Exceed $2,000
The new series is expected to start at $1,500 for the 11-inch model alone. As more storage is added to the total system, as well as cellular connectivity for fun, the price of these tablets might surpass $2,000 per device, perhaps deterring purchasers. Hopefully, the release of the M3 iPad Pro models will result in a significant price cut for the previous M2 devices, which pack quite a punch, as per WCCFTech.
Apple will almost certainly have a plethora of marketing materials surrounding the new iPad Pro models' OLED displays, and we will share all the specifics once they officially arrive, so stay tuned for further updates.
