Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor has joined forces with Japanese sportswear giant Asics, stepping into the role of brand ambassador for the Indian market. This collaboration seeks to bolster Asics' reach among India's female fitness enthusiasts while advancing their philosophy of "Sound Mind, Sound Body" nationwide.
With the tie-up, Asics not only intends to strengthen its philosophy of "Sound Mind, Sound Body" but also seeks to establish a prominent position among Indian women who are passionate about fitness. Shraddha Kapoor will endorse the brand's range of footwear and women's sportswear.
Asics, which stands for Anima Sana In Corpore Sano, was founded in 1949 and specializes in designing and manufacturing running shoes and athletic and sport-style-inspired footwear, apparel, and accessories. The company plans to produce 30% of its goods in India for local retailing as part of its broader strategy to open company-owned stores by 2026, as revealed by CEO Yasuhito Hirota.
Presently, Asics already operates 88 stores across India. Rajat Khurana, the managing director at Asics India, stated that Shraddha Kapoor, with her substantial fan base and influential presence, is the perfect ambassador to inspire and educate people about the importance of maintaining a healthy mind and body. He further emphasized that the association with Shraddha Kapoor will enhance the brand's appeal and expand its reach nationwide, promoting a holistic and active lifestyle.
Shraddha Kapoor expressed her thoughts on the collaboration, saying, "I firmly believe that a healthy body nurtures a healthy mind, and it has always been my goal to share these values with my fans. In addition, Shraddha Kapoor highlighted the increasing awareness regarding the significance of physical and emotional well-being, emphasizing the need for individuals to prioritize their overall health. Asics currently sells its products in India through its website, leading e-commerce platforms, and physical stores.
