BIGBANG’s Seungri is now getting closer to being served with a warrant of arrest after the detective division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has already forwarded his case to the prosecutors. The documents contain the details of the former idol singer’s cases, and he is being charged with at least seven criminal offenses.
According to South Korea’s Newsen, the charges that the former BIGBANG member is facing include embezzlement of Burning Sun’s funds, soliciting prostitution, dealing with drugs, embezzlement of attorney's fees, encouraging others to destroy evidence, violation on Food Sanitation Act and sex crimes. His cases were referred to the prosecution court on June 25.
Seungri’s latest charge was the alleged embezzlement of KRW1billion and his business partner Yoo In Suk is also involved. The police did not seek an arrest warrant for this offense because it is likely to be rejected at that time.
Seungri’s main case is engaging in prostitution for personal and business gains. It was alleged that used to hire prostitutes to entertain future investors for his businesses. In particular, the police are looking into the incidents where he supposedly provided women to his Japanese and Chinese acquaintances from December 2015 to January 2016. These instances were forwarded to the prosecutors after enough evidence was found to prove the cases against Seungri.
Former BIGBANG’s Seungri's string of criminal activities were uncovered after Jung Joon Young’s sex crimes were exposed in March. He admitted to filming women without consent and sharing illicit videos and photos via social media.
Joon Young and Seungri are part of some Kakaotalk chat rooms, and their chat history revealed their shocking activities including drug use, possible rape, and corruption as some influential people tried to help them get away from their crimes in exchange for money or favors. In any case, BIGBANG’s Seungri announced his retirement from the entertainment industry shortly after the scandal broke three months ago.
