BLACKPINK's Jennie Forays Into Fashion Business, Debuts Her ODD Atelier Label

Blackpink's Jennie has jumped into the business world via her own ODD Atelier brand.

BLACKPINK’s Jennie has entered the fashion business by launching her own label and company, ODD Atelier or OA. The 27-year-old Kpop idol singer personally announced the establishment of her new business on Sunday, Dec. 24.

As per Forbes, it was around noon when the BLACKPINK member posted her announcement on social media. In particular, Jennie updated her Instagram account with a message about her ODD Atelier fashion line. The post was instantly available for her more than 82 million followers to read.

Jennie Reveals Her Solo Journey as a Businesswoman

The singer has already set up OA’s account on Instagram as well and called her new venture into the fashion business her “solo journey.” It was noted that after her second world tour with the rest of the BLACKPINK members, Jennie took another major step in her career when she decided to open her own brand before 2023 closes.

In her message to fans, telling them about her fashion label, Jennie said, “This year was filled with many accomplishments, and I am so thankful for all the love I have received. As I start my solo journey in 2024 with a company that I have established called OA.”

Jennie asked her followers to patronize her new label. She said that she is starting anew with OA while also working with BLACKPINK.

How the Name OA Was Formed

OA’s Instagram account already posted three new snaps of Jennie, and less than a day after she announced her new fashion line, the page already attracted more than half a million followers. The number is still growing as more people learn about the singer’s new venture.

Meanwhile, Hypebeast reported that OA was originally founded in November, and the name stands for ODD ATELIER, which is a combination of English and French words. Odd means unusual, and Atelier is a French term for “workshop”; thus, it means Odd Workshop. It was named this way because the brand “aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected.”
