BTS is unstoppable as it breaks another record and makes history on YouTube and Melon Music chart. The South Korean boy band just surpassed the 550 million views mark on the leading American video-sharing site.
BTS attained this feat with their recently released English song “Dynamite” music video. On Nov. 2, the MV hit 500 million views and became the fastest music video to gain this much views in a short time.
As of writing, the official count on YouTube is 552,297,434 views after its Aug. 20 premiere. This means that the idol group accumulated this number for merely two months and 11 days.
This new record broke BLACKPINK’s record for its track titled “How You Like That.” At that time, the girl group managed to get 500 million views in three months. As for BTS, this is their ninth music video to exceed 500 million views on YouTube. Their songs such as “Blood, Sweat & Tears,” “IDOL,” “Dope,” and “Boy with Luv” also have this number.
Melon Music Charts new record
In any case, on Melon Music Charts, BTS also achieved a new milestone after “Dynamite” became the longest-running no. 1 single ranking on the daily chart. Allkpop reported that on Nov. 1, the English tract just topped Melon for the 53rd day straight.
With this, the group just bested Zico's "Any Song," who dominated the same music chart for 52 days. Melon is South Korea’s largest music streaming site. BTS is still expected to continue topping this chart for a few more weeks since the group will be releasing new songs this month.
