Beyond Meat and A&W Canada have joined forces to introduce the newest plant-based sandwich. The new Jalapeno Lime Beyond Meat Burger has been added to the menu of the Canadian unit of the American fast-food chain.
According to a report from Nasdaq, the Jalapeno Lime Beyond Meat Burger is A&W Canada's very first all plant-based sandwich offering. Then again, the new food item will only be in stores across the country for a limited time. Based on the available details, customers can purchase it starting Feb. 14 until Mar. 20.
Now, since the Jalapeno Lime Burger is also being launched at A&W Canada stores on the same day as Valentine's Day, the chain is offering a special deal for this new menu. Customers who will buy the new plant-based sandwich may get a second one for free!
It should be noted that this offer is only available for one day, and it is part of A&W Canada's 2 for 1 deal for the day of hearts or Feast of St. Valentine's. To make the deal sweeter, they will be packed in a Valentin's Day special box that will be available while supplies last. It was mentioned that only three A&W stores located in Greater Toronto Area have this promo.
"The Beyond Meat Burger has been a fan-favorite since day one, and we're excited to offer our guests a new, fully plant-based option with delicious, bold flavors," A&W Canada's brand communications and digital marketing director, Julia Cutt, said in a press release. "Here just in time for Valentine's Day, we're confident the Jalapeno Lime Beyond Meat Burger will satisfy meat-eaters and plant-based lovers alike."
In any case, the new A&W Canada's Jalapeno Lime Beyond Meat Burger is made with Beyond Meat beef patty, jalapeno lime aioli, lettuce, tomato, and red onion. It is sandwiched in a bun that is made with seven grains. The vegan patty does not have GMOs, gluten, or soy, and it contains 20 grams of protein sourced from peas.
Finally, Heena Verma, Beyond Meat Canada's marketing director, also commented about its collaboration with A&W Canada, "We are proud to collaborate with A&W Canada, our longtime partner, to make plant-based burgers that are better for people and the planet more widely accessible to Canadians."
