In a move that redefines the intersection of sports heritage and contemporary style, Nike has partnered with Bode Rec. to launch a groundbreaking apparel and footwear capsule. This eagerly anticipated collection includes eight distinctive apparel styles, such as track jackets, thermals, pinnies, dickies, jerseys, woven shorts, trousers, and a fresh interpretation of the iconic Nike Astrograbber shoe.
Celebrating Sports and Recreation
To mark this collaboration, the partners are set to inaugurate Bode Rec. and Nike Clubhouses in New York City, Paris, and Tokyo throughout April and May, according to a press release. These clubhouses will serve as vibrant hubs where sport and recreation unite, fostering a sense of community and shared passion. The Bode Rec. and Nike collection is poised to be available on bode.com and in select Bode stores starting April 18, expanding to SNKRS and select Nike retailers by May 1.
For over five decades, Nike has been at the forefront of supporting athletes and celebrating the essence of sport — the exhilaration of victory, the honor of effort, and the camaraderie that comes with shared enthusiasm.
Hypebeast noted that this partnership with Bode, a brand that mirrors Nike's ethos, introduces an apparel and footwear capsule that pays homage to and advances the traditions of sports and recreation.
A Tribute to Athletic Heritage
The Bode Rec. design philosophy delves into the evolution of athletic wear and personal development through the prism of American institutional sports and competition, aiming to transform our perception of collective cultural heritage. Emily Bode Aujla, the designer and founder of Bode, cites inspiration from her father's deep engagement with team sports and the influential role of student-athlete pride in community building.
This, combined with Nike's unwavering commitment to innovation and its storied history with founders Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight, is the foundation for this collaboration.
Among the collection highlights is the reimagined Nike Astrograbber shoe, available in black and cream colorways. A notable silhouette from Nike's archives, the Astrograbber is celebrated for its innovative waffle sole, a response to the advent of synthetic turf in the 1970s.
