‘Bones’ episode 19 is set to put Booth’s extensive hockey knowledge to the test with the case of a headless corpse. Season 11’s incoming episode is entitled “The Head in the Abutment”.

According to the synopsis posted on Carter Matt, Booth (David Boreanaz) leads the team to investigate the case of a murdered professional hockey player whose headless corpse was dumped in a river. Booth’s love for hockey and extensive knowledge in the sport is especially vital in cracking the investigation. He is also set to meet a past rival on the field.

The official synopsis stated, “The team investigates the death of a popular professional hockey player whose headless corpse was dumped in the river. As Booth and Aubrey question the player’s coach (guest star Jeremy Roenick as himself), Booth’s depth of hockey knowledge is integral to solving the case, and he’s reunited with a hockey rival from his past, putting him back on the ice once again to face off against him. Meanwhile, Hodgins and Oliver (guest star Brian Klugman) have a competition of their own when Hodgins builds two drones and they compete to retrieve the victim’s missing head, and Booth and Brennan attempt to declutter their home.”

In the promo posted on Hollywood Hills, Bones (Emily Deschanel) declares that the victim was already dead before being decapitated. Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) and Oliver then volunteer to find the head and engage in friendly competition with the use of assembled drones.
