Winter could spell trouble for Tesla's Cybertruck as experts warn of potential corrosion from salt, snow-related difficulties, and battery performance issues in cold conditions.

Ever since its release to the paying public, Tesla's Cybertruck has had a rocky reception. Hail stones have cracked its so-called protective glass, and the vehicle has merely died performing normal automobile stuff.

Winter May Worsen Cybertruck's Existing Issues

When winter arrives and the temperature drops, how will it fare? Some Redditors are worried that the Cybertruck's aluminum frame and extremely high-maintenance steel exterior will be damaged by the salt that is sprinkled on winter roads.

If you believe Futurism, they could be completely correct. Metalworkers and those who work with aluminum for its many uses are aware that, under some circumstances, the metal can corrode and weaken when exposed to salt water.

Cybertruck's Quality Control Issues Persist

Despite the lack of clarity regarding the protective coating and metal quality, the consumer model of the car has experienced numerous quality control issues, which should be cause for alarm for anybody.

"Brilliant," commented one Reddit user. "We sent you an unfinished truck that will deteriorate within weeks of contacting road salt. Good luck."

Snow Creates Problems for Cybertruck

The brutalist truck has more than just corrosion to worry about in the winter. A lot of people made fun of the Cybertruck last winter after hearing too many stories about it getting trapped in the snow while off-roading.

Yahoo says that doesn't even account for the fact that cold weather drains the juice out of EV batteries, which can lead to range concerns.

Supercharger Stations Face Winter Strain

As the weather in Chicago dropped sharply in January, making it impossible for Tesla owners to charge their EVs, the situation deteriorated to the point that Supercharger stations became a cemetery for abandoned Tesla automobiles.
