Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have been married for more than 10 years now and although they look very happy together, their marriage is one of those that has always been peppered with divorce rumors. Despite the couple’s denial each time, the tabloids still continue to create false news about them and here are some reports that they got wrong:
In December 2017, In Touch Weekly reported that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi are on the verge of breaking up. This is not the couple’s first split rumor but the publication claimed that it is really happening this time.
“They’re not going to make it. Their roller-coaster marriage is about to derail.”
It was alleged that the reason for the separation is wealth. The report stated that based on California’s “10-year marriage” law, once the couple reached their 10th year anniversary, Portia will be entitled to more of Ellen’s $360 million fortune.
In other words, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi are supposedly breaking up so that the former can protect her herself and wealth. But of course, this story turned out to be false.
In June, National Enquirer (via New Idea) reported that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi are involved in $400 million divorce case. It was claimed that the host already left their LA home but she was careful not to let their friends know about their split.
“It's all very shady and ominous. Ellen went to great lengths to keep the news from their close friends to avoid being asked questions,” a source supposedly told the tabloid.
It was added that Portia De Rossi feels neglected and mistreated. She thinks that while she has always been fully supportive of her wife, Ellen, on the other hand, is just being judgmental when it is about her.
However, this report was proven untrue. This means that the multi-million dollar divorce case was never filed.
Lastly, the latest gossip about Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi is that the pair bought a new home so that the latter will have a place to be alone. It was claimed that living separately for some time will help them save their marriage but this was proven wrong as well.
