Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s marriage is most likely on many fans’ list of relationship goals. But just like many Hollywood couples, they face rumors of having a troubled relationship from time to time.
Recently, Life & Style magazine reported that de Rossi and DeGeneres purchased a 5,100-square-foot home in Beverly Hills last September that cost them $15 million. But the interesting bit about the report came from an anonymous source, who claimed that they will not be sharing the new house. It will, instead, serve as “an escape pad” for the “Arrested Development” alum, the source said.
The same report further claimed that the new house is where de Rossi will stay for two nights every week. The supposed living arrangement was purportedly formulated to save their marriage since de Rossi and DeGeneres have been having “stressful fights” for years, Life & Style’s source added.
But fact-checking media outlet Gossip Cop has debunked the Life & Style report. A source close to the “Game of Games” host clarified that Ellen DeGeneres simply loves buying and flipping homes. But she and Portia de Rossi are not practicing a bizarre living arrangement and their marriage is still “going strong.”
There are several clues that fans can also pick up showing that DeGeneres and de Rossi continue to share a very loving marriage. For the National Coming Out Day last month, the talk show host shared a photo of them sharing a kiss on the set of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” DeGeneres topped the photo with an encouraging message for her over 59.5 million followers on Instagram, “[Coming out is] the greatest gift you could give yourself.”
While rumors of separation are generally not healthy, Portia de Rossi has a completely different way of interpreting it. In an interview with Us Weekly last June, Ellen DeGeneres’s wife explained that these gossip reports somehow prove “perceptions have changed” and how they are “finally accepted” because now they get the same media treatment as other celebrity couples.
