Bethesda has big plans for “Fallout 76” throughout the year and the developer has outlined the forthcoming updates in a newly released 2022 roadmap. New content will come to the game in the spring that mainly features an alien invasion.
The first seasonal event of 2022 is called “Invaders from Beyond” that will have “Fallout 76” Dwellers face hostile aliens. The new enemies will be running all over Appalachia with the goal of extracting human brainwaves. More details about the updates have been revealed in a new Dev Dive video.
“Fallout 76” players will continue facing off with the common aliens in Appalachia. But they are going to receive an upgrade in “Invaders from Beyond,” as they will be equipped with poison and cryo weapons to complete their mission.
The update will also introduce new creatures to “Fallout 76,” including the flying drones that are also equipped to shoot laser beams at their opponents. Bethesda is also adding the Heavy Invaders, which are aliens in a mech suit. Players should also prepare for missile strikes fired by alien ships.
An update to the Fallout Worlds is also coming to “Fallout 76” in the spring that will allow players to collect SCORE, and more content as part of Season 8: A Better Life Underground.
Details about the seasonal content for summer, fall, and winter are not included in the roadmap yet. But Bethesda has already assigned seasonal themes and provided a few information on the Public events to expect after spring.
A “Test Your Metal” event will go live in the summer that will test players’ weapons and armor in arena fights against “deadly automatons.” Bethesda also announced the release of upgrades to the Fallout 1st scoreboard in the same season.
“Fallout 76” players will be able to venture beyond the Appalachia borders in the fall to complete new missions and explore a “lethal location” called The Pitt. Bethesda will bring the “Nuka-World on Tour” in the winter, along with season 11 and a new Region Boss Public Event.
