“Fuller House” season 5 is confirmed to be the last installment of the popular sitcom on Netflix but other details are still under wraps. However, fans can take clues from previous premieres that leads to the possibility that it could return in September.
Over a month since the fourth season premiered on Netflix, fans were shocked to hear the news that “Fuller House” season 5 will serve as the finale. The show is believed to be one of the most followed Netflix original comedy series so the news of its cancellation was quite surprising to some viewers.
The news was confirmed with a mini trailer referring to “Fuller House” season 5 as the “Farewell Season.” It contains some of the best moments in the show featuring all the main characters. In the end, the cast members promised fans that they have “saved the best for last.”
The same video teaser also confirmed that “Fuller House” season 5 will air sometime in fall 2019. The specific release date is unlikely getting announced soon. However, it can be recalled that season 3 was the only installment that aired in fall season or on Sept. 22, 2017, specifically. Will Netflix give “Fuller House” season 5 a September 2019 release date? This is one possibility.
Candace Cameron Bure, who plays D.J. Tanner-Fuller, previously confirmed to her Instagram followers that “Fuller House” season 5 is composed of 18 episodes. That is five more than what was ordered for season 4. Interestingly, season 3 was also the only installment that had 18 episodes and, again, it premiered in fall.
Another interesting detail is that season 3’s 18 episodes aired in two batches — the first half were released in September 2017 while the rest started streaming on Netflix in the following December. With several similarities between “Fuller House” season 5 and season 3, it is not far-fetched to expect a two-part premiere for the farewell season, too.
