"GTA 6" will most certainly be delayed and will not be published globally until around the end of 2025. At least, that's what Bank of America analysts assume based on Rockstar's track record of actually releasing games after citing an initial release date in debut trailers.
Furthermore, analysts claim that the game's premiere trailer from earlier this week did not have enough features to convince them that "GTA 6" is far into the alpha testing phase. Also, there was no mention of a PC version in the trailer.
Will' GTA 6' Be Delayed?
Following the release of the (insanely popular) teaser a few days ago, the bank apparently reduced its Take-Two rating, assuming that the delivery of "GTA 6" by the end of 2025 is more possible. "The GTA 6 debut trailer, while exciting, did not contain elements that convince us that the game is well into alpha testing," analysts Omar Dessouky and Arthur Chu stated.
Publisher Take-Two is reportedly planning a release in early 2025 (between January and March). However, reports say that the "GTA 6" game was originally planned for next year. Take-Two hinted at the game's release date in August of this year, stating that "new record levels of operating performance next year and beyond" would be reached by March 2025.
"In closing, we are confident that the actions our teams are taking this year are preparing us for a strong trajectory of growth. Through our collective efforts, we continue to believe that we are positioning our business for a significant inflection point in fiscal 2025 that will culminate in us delivering new record levels of operating performance next year and beyond. We thank all of our stakeholders for their continued support, and we look forward to delivering on this exciting next chapter," Take-Two's Chief Financial Officer told investors, per WCCFTECH.
Will 'GTA 6' Be Unplayable To Millions?
Fans were all excited to see what the game had in store for us when Rockstar Games practically shattered the internet with the surprise early release of the "GTA 6" trailer, according to Gaming Bible. Finally, all of the fans who have been playing overhyped guessing games have answers to their predictions.
However, while the game looks fantastic, previous-generation systems such as the PS4 and Xbox One will be unable to play it. As expected, there will be no PC release at this time.
"Rockstar Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., is proud to announce that Grand Theft Auto VI is coming to PlayStation 5 computer entertainment systems and Xbox Series X|S games and entertainment systems in 2025," the company said in a press release.
Given how immersive "GTA 6" is attempting to be, and Rockstar's Sam Houser stating that the studio has pushed the "limits of what's possible," it's unsurprising that only new-gen consoles are in contention. That being said, given that PC gamers repeatedly assert that PC gaming is superior to everything else, it's disappointing to see them left out in the cold with previous-gen players, though it's hardly surprising.
Rockstar rarely releases straight to PC, preferring to wait till the console market has been exhausted. "GTA 6" is slated for a 2025 release.
