‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 main actor Kit Harington warned that the show will take on a “bleak” turn of events. Fellow actor Maisie Williams also warned that nothing could prepare anyone for the next season. Meanwhile, HBO is revealed to add nine new characters on the show.
According to USA Today, Harington revealed that although he hasn’t had the chance to read the incoming season’s script as of the present, he guess that things will take a “bleak” turn for characters of the show as well as his own Jon Snow.
Harington said, "It's important to stress at this point that I haven't had any scripts, so this is all guesswork for me… I think it's going to get very bleak before if there is a happy ending. If there's any sort of win or heroic moment for Jon and everyone else.”
He added, “I think it's going to get very dark before it gets better. I think what we might see this season is those White Walkers and that Army of the Dead really come into force. So that's going to be exciting to see. I don't know what it means. I think with the whole "winter is finally here" business, it means everyone is going to have a really bad time."
Meanwhile, co-star Maisie Williams took to social media to flood fans with her reactions upon reading the script.
According to The Next Web, she began her series of tweets on August 23 with, “just finished reading season 7”. She went on to post cryptic tweets such as “sh*t gets REAL” and “i'd start preparing yourselves now”. She ended with “scratch that, nothing will prepare you for this” and a final expletive ridden post before signing off.
Meanwhile, it was speculated that Jason Momoa will be making a surprise reappearance for season 7 after he was seen with showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss in an Instagram snap. It was reported that the photograph was taken at the show’s filming location in Northern Ireland. Momoa played major character Khal Drogo in the first season but was eventually killed off.
Momoa may not be the only possible addition in season 7’s cast. According to Den of Geek, HBO is looking to cast actors for nine new characters in the show including a general, a priest, a warrior, a “lovely lady”, and a young lord in his 20s.
‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 is a critically-acclaimed fantasy-drama television series based on George R. R. Martin’s bestselling books, with the show’s title taken from Martin’s first book in the series. It was created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss for HBO.
Season 7 is reportedly premiering in mid-2017. No official release date has been announced as of the present.
