GN Food, the powerhouse behind Korea's beloved roasted chicken franchise Goobne Chicken, excitedly announced the inauguration of its fourth outlet in the United States on Monday. This new addition, nestled in the vibrant Korea Town of Los Angeles, marks a significant step in Goobne's expansion within the U.S., joining its two existing Los Angeles locations and one in Texas.
Korea Times noted that the company's proactive move is a testament to the rising appetite for Korean cuisine in the U.S., buoyed by the global wave of Korean cultural phenomena, including music, dramas, and films.
Riding the Hallyu Wave
The company's expansion strategy is riding high on the "Hallyu" wave, the global popularity of Korean culture. "There is a rising demand for Korean foods in the U.S. helped by the popularity of Korean songs, dramas, films, and other content," a GN Food spokesperson highlighted. This cultural resonance has been pivotal in introducing and popularizing Korean flavors and dishes to a broader audience, making brands like Goobne household names beyond South Korean borders.
Ambitious Global Expansion
Rappler reported that GN Food's ambitious blueprint doesn't stop at the U.S. The company has set its sights on opening 100 Goobne stores in global markets by 2025. Since launching its first overseas outlet in Hong Kong in 2014, Goobne has swiftly scaled its operations to run 45 stores across 10 countries, including Japan, China, and Malaysia. This expansive growth reflects Goobne's commitment to bringing its unique Korean roasted chicken to food enthusiasts worldwide.
A Foray into the Philippines
In a recent announcement, Goobne shared its plans to open the brand's first Philippine outlet on the 3rd floor of One Bonifacio High Street in Bonifacio Global City within the year. The exact opening month remains under wraps, fueling anticipation among Filipino fans of Korean cuisine.
This strategic expansion by GN Food underlines the potency of leveraging cultural exports to foster business growth internationally. With its eyes firmly set on becoming a dominant player in the global food market, Goobne Chicken is swiftly becoming a symbol of Korean cuisine's international appeal and success.
