Google Pixel 4 is looking to distance itself from its predecessor as the Mountain View-based company is trying to follow the latest smartphone trend. One particular aspect that is widely discussed by tech enthusiasts is the possibility of the fourth entry including two rear cameras.
While previous rumors suggest that the Google Pixel 4 will once again sport a single snapper, contradicting narratives has surfaced recently that this will not be the case at all. Google’s stance on this regard has been pretty firm, arguing that the handset series only needs one camera to deliver stunning photos as evidenced by the Google Pixel 3’s performance. But those belief appears to have changed, GottaBe Mobile reported.
Unfortunately, there’s still no confirmation what sort of features this second camera will offer. The main snapper of the Google Pixel 4 is expected to have an improved version of the 12.3 megapixels, while the second lens might serve as a support, perhaps providing 3D depth mapping or color adjustments.
If these rumors are proven to be true, then the Google Pixel 4 will once again be one of the best smartphones out in the market camera-wise. Along with Google’s superb software and machine learning capabilities, users are excited to see how this handset will perform on this front. If the Google Pixel 3 can stand toe to toe with its competitors with only a single rear camera, it would be interesting to see what a two-lens setup will produce.
Overall, Google Pixel 4 is touted to have four snappers – two on the back and two at the front. However, its base model is reportedly going to have only three snappers on account of it being cheaper.
And speaking of which, the Google Pixel 4 is expected to mirror the Pixel 3’s costs for both its cheaper model and XL variant. The former is priced at $799, while the latter could land at $899, with a possibility to bump that price $100 more if you’re someone who’s looking to add RAM and storage. The Google Pixel 4 is touted to be unveiled and released this coming October.
