- Australia - CB leading indicator for March dropped by -0.1% compared to prior growth of 0.5%. RBA released its minutes of meeting for May, in which it provided 25 basis points cut.
- New Zealand - Inflation expectation for second quarter improved to 1.85% from 1.8% prior.
Upcoming -
- UK - Inflation statistics to for April is scheduled for release at 8:30 GMT. Data includes producer price index, Retail price index and Consumer price index. Extremely important for pound and weak release would push it lower.
- Germany - Zew Survey for economic sentiment and current situation will be released at 9:00 GMT. Greek situation might push current situation sentiment lower.
- Euro zone - Consumer price index, along with Trade balance and Zew economic sentiment would be released for April at 9:00 GMT.
- US - Not many dockets from US. Housing market stat is scheduled at 12:30 GMT, Building permits and Housing Starts, followed by Redbook index at 12:55 GMT.
- Switzerland - SNB board member Danthine is scheduled to speak today at 14:00 GMT.
- New Zealand - Global dairy trade price to be published today. Weaker price would add to the downward pressure on Kiwi.
- Canada - BOC governor Stephen Poloz is scheduled to speak at 15:45 GMT.
- Australia - RBA deputy governor Lowe will be giving speech at 21:15 GMT.
- Japan - Japan will release first quarter preliminary GDP estimate at 23:50 GMT. Stronger release would indicate that growth is bouncing back.
- Auction - US will be auctioning 1 month bills at 15:30 GMT.
