STAMFORD, Conn., Feb. 02, 2017 -- Independence Holding Company (NYSE:IHC) today announced that it repurchased an additional 243,000 shares of its common stock for $20 per share for a total of $4,860,000, bringing the total number of shares purchased in private transactions this year to 533,000 shares for a total cost of $10,660,000. IHC also repurchases stock in open-market purchases from time to time under its repurchase program, as determined by management based on market conditions, regulatory requirements and other corporate considerations.
