The nation’s leading manufacturing group announced that it will be giving an award to Ivanka Trump, daughter and senior political adviser to President Donald Trump. The group credited Ivanka for “boosting the creation of permanent and high-paying jobs in the trade sector,” Salon reported.
The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) recognized Ivanka Trump’s efforts in combating unemployment “like no one in government has ever done,” the Washington Examiner reported. President Donald Trump’s daughter and senior advisors led campaigns to boost employment, convince companies to create more jobs and empower women business owners both nationally and internationally.
NAM announced on Friday that it will give Ivanka Trump their inaugural Alexander Hamilton Award in recognition for her contribution to the manufacturing sector. The award will be given at the Creators Wanted event on Wednesday, February 12, which will be held at Washington DC’s The Conrad Hotel.
“Ivanka Trump embodies the collaborative spirit and relentless drive needed to solve manufacturers’ most pressing challenge — the workforce crisis,” NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons said. “Like no one in government has ever done, she has provided singular leadership and shown an unwavering commitment to modern manufacturing in America.”
Timmons explained that the award is given to leaders who have immensely contributed to the growth of the U.S. manufacturing sector. “The Alexander Hamilton Award honors leaders who have made exceptional contributions to growing manufacturing in the United States and to empowering more Americans with high-tech, high-paying modern manufacturing jobs,” Timmons added in a statement.
NAM decided to choose Ivanka Trump as the recipient of the award this year for her efforts in generating employment opportunities for all. “For her work bringing together leaders of industry, government, and academia to put in-demand careers within reach for all Americans, Ivanka stands out as the perfect choice for this award,” the NAM president said.
Ivanka Trump has been highlighting the successes made by President Donald Trump’s administration in terms of unemployment. “Obviously we see what’s happening from an economic growth perspective and how his policies are lifting the lives of so many,” Ivanka said in an interview after the President’s SOTU address. “Historically low unemployment across every single demographic - historically low unemployment for disabled Americans, historically low unemployment for African-Americans, for Asian-Americans.”
